Carrying out a safe and secure weighing operation of the hazardous and inflammable chemicals in the petrochemical industry poses a big challenge to the material handlers. The priority is to weigh dangerous and explosive chemicals in a safe and secure manner, and avoid accidental explosion that can cause harm to people and property. Many such industries generate inflammable vapors and this increases the risk of ignition, resulting into a major accident.
The answer lies in installing an explosion proof floor scale that is intrinsically safe and does not generate enough electrical or heat energy to trigger an explosion in an inflammable environment. These scales are therefore also called intrinsically safe scales. The weighing scale follows the National Electrical code and is made up of special components and materials. The internal circuits, cables and components layout are designed in such manner that the floor scale can neither generate electrical spark nor heat energy, to ignite the vapors in the vicinity and cause a destructive explosion.

The inbuilt protection helps to protect the lives of the workers by considerably reducing the threat of fire or explosion.
